Filters are clean, soft cloth used to wipe inside of each filter slot down...not so much worried about the constant clicking, as much as I am the unit running 5mins and shutting off, or the alarm sounding...

These are usually quiet so the clicking might be an problem. It could just be a dirty ion generator. On this unit you can toss those into the dishwasher. If they are dirty enough the click you hear might just be a spark. If it is sensing this it might be why it is shutting down as well.

I've included a link to the manual for the unit so that might help you out in settings and so on.

This is the pdf manual

This is a link to the product page, at the bottom is the tab for warranty and manuals.

I would download and read the manual, clean the unit according to the manual and see if that makes it behave. When these work they are incredible at what they take out of the air. We used a commercial version of this unit in a 13000 sqr foot room and even with a few hundred people who smoked (was allowed at the time) the air remained clear. The ion traps were revolting disgusting when they were cleaned once a week so they definitely pull stuff out of the air.

The Intelli-Check™ Filter Monitors will indicate replacement of the pre-filter and the

HEPA filter. Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used),

you may need to check and replace the filters more or less frequently.

To check Expected Filter Life Usage

When the unit is turned on, quickly press the appropriate filter monitor button. The

pre-filter light will flash up to 3 times and the HEPA filter light will flash up to 4 times,

depending upon how much expected filter life has been used.

PREFILTER:

1 flash = from new, up to 1/3 expected life used up

2 flashes = between 1/3 and 2/3 expected life used up

3 flashes = between 2/3 and all of expected life used up

Remains on = time to check/replace pre-filter

HEPA FILTER:

1 flash = from new, up to 1/4 expected life used up

2 flashes = between 1/4 and 1/2 expected life used up

3 flashes = between 1/2 and 3/4 expected life used up

4 flashes = between 3/4 and all of expected life used up

Remains on = time to check/replace HEPA filter

To RESET Filter Monitor

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/replace the filter and reset

the filter monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, press and hold the appropriate

filter monitor button down for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off.

My sister gave me her Brookstone Pure ion Air purifier....The "clean filter" light flashes red....I wiped the filter with a damp cloth...so think it is clean...?....Is this how to clean it? ....and how do...

Wiping it off won't clean the filter. I submerse mine in hot soapy water ( oxiclean w/any favorite multipurpose liquid cleaner.Let it air dry completely before placing it back in unit.I have tried the dishwasher method and it didn't clean it.I also thoroughly wash all crevices of the unit.If red light doesn't go off, reclean the filter(s). It has all ways worked for me.

When clean the filter in one hour the machine stop and i need clean back

clean the metal filter grid blades with a long strip of scotch brite pad and also clean the corona wires in the back of the unit very gently with light grade sandpaper. i had this problem and tried cleaning my unit so many times that i was ready to toss it into the trash. now it works normally. i did some spray painting in the room where the unit was operating and believe it picked up a coating of paint causing the sparking. good luck!

Breeze just stop running.....

At the rear of the unit is the filter. When the filter is removed, the small screw or whatever it is called, that is attached to the filter on the lower right side, disengages the the safety switch just below the filter on the unit itself, if there is nothing to hold down this safety switch the unit will not operate. So take off the filter, there is a small notch on the unit, inside this notch is the safety switch, Try pressing down on this switch and see what happens. I hope this helps. Also, it may be the fuse.

Wont run after I cleaned it

On the model 30200 there is a safety interlock switch actuated by a plastic tab (about 4" down from the top of the front filter cover) on the right side. Assuming that all you did was take off the front cover and clean or replace the filter(s) and the unit was working previously, this should be your answer. If in taking off the cover the switch actuation tab was broken off, you could (carefully) wedge a tab into the slot where the switch resides. This defeats the safety aspect of certifying that the unit isn't running when you remove the cover. The safe work-around is to unplug the unit before you open it for service.

Red Light on front of Filter Queen Defender

When the red light is blinking, press and hold both up and down arrows until the red light blinks RAPIDLY, release both for a second or two, and press and hold both again until it stops blinking. It cured my problem.
