My free, used Trinitron was turned on by pressing Power button, then connected to power outlet and satellite cable. (No VCR or DVD connected.) Set came on easily, with full picture and sound. Undertook Auto-programming of stations, starting with Channel 1 up to Channel 125. Picture and sound still fine.
TV was turned off by pressing Power. Later, when TV again turned on by pressing Power button, picture was scrambled (lots of lines like an unused station), and only sound was buzzing. Undertook Auto-programming of stations, starting with Channel 1 up to Channel 125. Didn't work. Turned off TV set.
Purchased universal remote from Best Buy. Turned on TV set and programed in Sony code. Auto-programming didn't work, again. Still only buzzing sound and no picture.
Need to know how to get picture and sound, as well as auto-programming of channels completed.
Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.
