Question about Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera

1 Answer

Horizontal Lines after-photo.

Hello, I have a Canon PowerShot s1 is. Relatively new and it is a never fallen one. Last nite I took some pictures of the moon and it was all ok. But today when I was to take a picture, after the shot I noticed there were horizontal lines in the image, there are somewhat white but sometimes alterates the colours in the (yet poorly visible) image. Already tried other CF cards and also formatted them but it was useless. The Video Recording Mode Works fine. What could it be? Please suggest a solution for this problem.

Thanks for your solution. now I have another question. I am a colombian, actually resident in my country, the camera i'm talking about is a Canon Powershot S1 IS, it was bought in Canada, by the time of winter 2004 and it was given to me as a gift in christmas that same year, completely packed new with all the included accesories but for one, the invoice of purchase or so you name it. Since I read this post i've been asking everyone for that invoice of purchase but actually no one in my family knows of its existence... the question is: Do i need that invoice or some other paper proof of purchase or some accesories given with the camera to make this warranty effective? and, what Canon should I contact, Canon Canada or Canon Latin America??? Please answer.

Hi, I don't know if this is going to be your problem, but recently the Canon anounced a recall for Canon S1 IS, due CCD problems. Most people with this problem complains of lines on the image, or the image going completely black. Some are having their CCD changed, but most of the users are having their S1 replaced for a brand new S3. Contact the Canon Technical Support, and maybe you get a S3 for free...
