System pin reset

You shouldn't need a code to reset the handset, but the base requires a PIN (Default PIN is "0000"). I have typed the instructions below, but here is a link to the online PDF: http://dl.owneriq.net/5/5d7cdc19-660a-8934-7d52-e5205df74c27.pdf

Handset:

1. Menu -> Settings ->Handset -> Reset Handset
   
2. OK - press the control key to confirm
3. End Call Button - Long Press (Idle Status)

This will reset individual settings & changes made by you. It will not affect the directory, calls list, SMS lists, the handset registration to the base and stored pictures or ringer melodies.
Base:

1. Menu -> Settings -> Base -> Base Reset
2. Enter the system PIN (Default PIN "0000" or the PIN you created)
3. OK - Press the control key to confirm

At "System Settings" in the Menu press *65# then press the Select button.
"System PIN Reset" will be displayed (if the PIN was not already the default).
The default PIN is 0000.

When restoring factory settings:

- When resetting via the menu:

1. I forgot the PIN number on my Gigaset 2XXX system base station. What can I do?
   Please complete the following steps to reset the system PIN on 2XXX back to 0000. On the system base station:
   

• Press MENU.

There is a way to override and reset... I think you need to press *67# when in the system pin area via menu. Confirm this first though. There is a way to do this though- then you reset it to 0000- google it and you will find the answer-

The default PIN for base and handsets is 0000 - if it has not been changed

• Press Menu on Handset
• Scroll to Mobile Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Local Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Chang Pin - press ok
• Enter Current handset PIN - press ok
• Enter New PIN - press ok
• Display will show Confirm - Reenter PIN - press ok

To register your handset to that base station, you must put the base station in registration mode at the same time you put the handset in registration mode. This is how you do it. At the handset you push OK when it asks you to register. If it asks you for the pin enter 0000 (factory pin) and push OK. The handset should say "registering base 1". Then at the base press the page/reg key down until it flashes (its to the immediate right of the cradle where you rest the handset for charging). That puts the base in registration mode and now its looking for the handset and vise versa. Now watch your handsets display. If it asks to to select an intercom number, then push ok and your done. If it says "invalid pin" then you need to reset your pin on your base (thats a different problem see below). If the handset times out and never registers, you need to repeat the process a couple times, you may have a bad base or it needs to be defaulted. If you need to default your pin, you can do so but it will default the base station to factory settings. To do so remove the power from your base, hold your page/registration key down, and apply power back to the base. Count to 15, then let off the key. Turn off the power, count to five, then apply power again and follow the steps again to register the handset and you will need to reregister every handset that was previously running on it.

OK, here's what happened. I had the same issue of the phone resetting when a call came in, I thought it was a power issue and through some testing it was not. Here's the fix...Menu \ system settings \ enter pin (if you haven't changed it it is 0000) scroll to factory default and reset. This fixed the problem somehow for me, make sure to write down any impotant messages because it will erase everyting (silly me). I hope this helps.
