For the past few weeks my monitor has been running some parallel lines across the top 1/2 to 1 inch (6 or 8 white lines). Usually the screen comes on clear and then as it is being used and when the screen saver is interupted it develops this problem.
Now the entire screen becomes blurry when left on for even a few hours. Looks like the image was wet and then dragged across the screen for about 1 inch moving horizontally leaving a very blurry image.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Blurring of images and text
Mt, the 6 to 8 lines you were seeing were most likley the prelude to the end of the monitor. If the problem only occurs when the screen saver comes on then I could say the driver maybe being corrupted by a certain screensaver picture or program. When the monitor warms up to a certain temprature the electronics start to fail. You may want to turn off the monitor while your not right in front of it to cool it down and prolong its use.

The print-head is like a paint-brush -- brush sideways across a white-coloured wall, and you should get a wide "band" of paint. If only half of the paint-brush has paint on it, then only half of that "band" on the wall will get painted, leaving a horizontal strip of white showing through.
So, launch the Canon software that is installed on your computer, and run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to unclog those ink-jets that are _NOT_ shooting the ink onto the paper.
This is a tipical flyback defect circuit, the lines can 1st appear on top/bottom of screen, then can increase to center. Send monitor to repair center, for check and repair. You can test with a tv test signal.
any vertical or horizontal line (any color any size) showing stable on the screen that is the hardware damage at the LCD panel back board ( call panel driver board) . it repair complicate but easy to do change LCD panel (common parts). you need find a PC service dealer to do so.
What sort of shadow lines? I assume you haven't just noticed the two horizontal lines 1/3rd up the screen from the bottom and 1/3rd down from the top from the internal stabilizing wires that all Trinitron CRTs have?
Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps. It solved our problem.
