I have been using Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.1912 for months without any problems. Today, I received the much reported 81003005 error trying to sign in with AccountA. I have tried the proxy "solution" which didn't apply to me since it was already unchecked. I checked the connection registry entries and they were correct. I can sign in with another name/account (AccountB) on the same PC. On another PC, I cannot sign in with the troubled name/account (AccountA)... I get the same error. I can log into Yahoo AccountA to check email, etc with no problems.
So it is only one account affected AND tried login on three PCs.

just today messenger 9 is iving me this error 81003005 so made use of the wizard but its not helping security code image is not showing up in my screen i see letters captche instead and msn is not recognizing it... hope this can be resolved...

same story for me guys .... i can't login on both of my accounts the same error code, but using the web version if YM i've seen allot of ppl online :( so i think only few of us have this problems

Hi u i had (or maybe have) this problem but a solution that i found is : you set a proxy in internet explorer , clear that with this steps: 1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.

I solved the problem by logging into the web yahoo messenger (http://webmessenger.yahoo.com). Then I was able to log in with the normal messenger client. I was having the error 81003005 on multiple computers. After logging into the web messenger, the yahoo client worked on all my computers

ok, in my case i remembered I tried using a proxy on internet explorer and forgot to put it off, so the proxy connection was still on even though the proxy was dead.
It now a proven fact to me that internet explore settings are linked to yahoo mess! so make sure your internet explorer is working ok without proxy:

Make sure messenger is off, then go to start>run> regedit then open up HKEY CURRENT USER then open up SOFTWARE then open up MICROSOFT then open up WINDOWS then open up CURRENT VERSION then click on Internet Settings but dont open it just click on it then go half way down the list to find PROXY ENABLE,PROXY SERVER,PROXY OVERRIDE then click on PROXY ENABLE click modify binary and change from 0x00000000 (1) to 0x00000000 (0) then delete PROXY SERVER and PROXY OVERRIDE and there you go sign into messenger this has worked perfect for me hope it does for you.

I have been running into this problem several days now, I even changed my password as I thought the problem lied with my account.
It kept repeating to fill in my account info, only today I got this error code.
