Sony DSC-W100 I own a sony dsc w100 and it has been taking great photos. Unfortunatly I switched it on today and it no longer seems to be a ble to focus. I have cleaned the lens and the little circular piece of glass (think this bit measures distance for focus) but my photos are still blurred. The camera seems to permenantly have a little icon saying 'saf' in the bottom left corner of the screen. I wonder if this icon is the key to the problem and what it means? Is it a safe mode and if so how do i get it back to normal? Your help is much appreciated Chris

Um I have the same problem. The camera does not auto focus on anything and the only time that it is actually in focus is when I zoom. It solved itself recently, but then started up with the out of focus during a christmas party, so half my pictures are out of focus.

i have the same problem with my Cyber shot DSC-T100 which im guessing is a very similar camera. The pictures get a purple tinge and don't focus properly. I find zooming i then out again helps to fix it but is only very temporary

Mine will switch between shooting modes, and just recently stopped working all together. Does anyone know of a fix?

FINALLY FIXED!

I use my dsc w100 for work all day every day and it started doing the same thing, after trying everything I could find, a few light smacks to the bottom and presto, works like new!!

SOURCE: Sony DSC-W100 PROBLEMS

I found a solution that worked for me further on in this site. The person said to reset the camera. On my Sony DSC-W100, I opened the battery/memory slot door and to the left of the memory slot there's a tiny gray dot that I pressed and the problem has gone away.
