I just purchased the Coby TF-DVD7107 7" TFT Portable DVD Player, and when I put in a Dvd, there is only the faintest image on the screen. It's so light that I can't see the menu settings to adjust them. Any suggestions?
Hi all
I had a similar problem with Coby dvd 7500 the screen was faint almost black but could hear the movie sound. I cleaned the lens as suggested but it didnt resolve the problem.
I tired to rest the player by removing the power supply cord and the battery for 30 mins as suggested in the manual but that also didnt work. What I did was left the player without battery and the power cord overnight and it did start working in the morning!!
This worked for me and hope works for you guys too...though I cant explain to you the reason as am novice myself. But do give it a try!!
All the best.
Cheers

Missmai and guest, the ballast supplying the CCFL tube may not be working. PCB board is in the lid (Cover) where the LCD screen is mounted. Careful opening it...the membrane (loom) attaching LCD and PCB when stretch too much could render a blank or white faulty display.
If the store where you bought this player do not give service support and parts, you might just have to toss it and forget about it. There is nowhere to get it because the same model you have now is carried by another two (2) brand names plus Coby. Sorry...its the fact...i will let you know if there is a fourth brand.
Good Luck.

No image on screen. Can't see menu or display mode to try to modify contrast, brightness etc. Coby DVD 1020
I have the same problem with mine that I bought about a year ago. This DVD player worked for about 2 months and the screen went on me too. There should be a recall but that will never happen. This is how they make things these days. It's a shame.
