I'm taking apart these speakers for a little project I am working on that requires audio. I decided to use these speakers because they're cheap, small, and they looked easy to take apart. However when i got them out of the box I discovered quite the opposite when I learned there are no screws to be seen anywhere on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I bought the same unit with the same purpose. Unfortunately, the unit is totally glued together. There are no hidden screws. I found the solution on a Turkish forum (user xererx on http://forum.donanimhaber.com/m_42808409/tm.htm) You have to pry the front and the back pieces from one another. Take a thin screwdriver and carefully insert it to the front edge of the oval piece on which the volume control is mounted. It takes some amount of patience to break the seal first time. Then move the screwdriver slowly along the junction so that it breaks piece by piece. (It would perhaps help to heat the junction but I did not try it.) The slower you go through this process the cleaner will the separation be. Once you are done with your modification, you will need to glue the two parts back together again. Good luck. MCY. Same here. I got the speakers for use with another project and found that the easiest way to get inside was to remove the mesh cover by prying at the top, then working my way around to the bottom. The glue pops pretty easily and working around from top to bottom should get you inside without damaging the enclosure, should that be necessary in the final result of the project.
Also, these speakers have a built in transformer running them at 9V (500 mA) should anybody else be interested in "repurposing" them.

Suggest that you download the latest Logitech drivers for your sound system.
SOURCE: Z2300 satellite disassemble
1. Remove the black face screen.
2. The 4 holes on the satellite that hold the face screen on have a rubber stopper in each. Pop those out with a screw driver. There are now 4 screws to take out.
3. The front silver face plate is now only held on by glue. Take a hair drier around the edges to soften the glue, then carefully pry the front face plate off, being careful not to damage it (I pried it from the bottom so any damage wouldn't be noticed).
Note: the 3 screws on the bottom have nothing to do with removing the face plate.
SOURCE: Logitech Z-5500 Speaker stand problem
The stand was held on with a nut on the inside. There is not longer a nut on the inside of the hole, so there is now nothing for the stand screw to attach to. The nut is now stuck to the magnet on the speaker. You will need to disassemble the speaker housing to remove the nut from the speaker magnet and reattach then stand. peace. Paul.
SOURCE: How to disassemble Logitech Z-340 sub-woofer
The speaker bezel can be removed in only two ways:
1) Somehow remove the grille in order to get a the screws which hold the bezel onto the cabinet. I tried to do this and couldn't get it to budge. Once I got the thing open I observed that Logitech used a LOT of glue to hold this thing together.
2) Drill holes THROUGH the grill above each of the 8 screws large enough so you can loosen the screws.
Once you get it open, you'll be shocked to discover what you thought was the subwoofer cone is actually A ROUND PIECE OF CARDBOARD fastened to the foam. The 4" driver is behind this fastened to a board halfway back pointing into the chamber containing the electronics.
You can get to the power transformer, but good luck removing it. The screws are nearly impossible to unfasten; more glue but more importantly incredibly awful access to the nut and screw (yes, a screw, not a bolt).
I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for this system. Luckily, I didn't.

Disassembling the parts of HTS and reassigning them to other makes and models is unwise and unpredictable electrically and sound-wise.
