My samsung tantus has been working fine until last night now when l turn it on it fine for a dfew mins then goes in and out of focus then after a few mins it goes black then comes on and of can you please help me. thanks mark

Tv projection Lamp might be some how the causes again.Tries unplug,replug tv back like about an hour later.Try it again,should work now.If not,yes the projection lamp,might have been kill by the cold weather.

check first power ac cord by removing back cover trace if ac line voltage found, check for possible burn fuse. make a record after that scenario trace and log voltage trace from power supply ckt area.

you need to general service the whole unit. this will include re-soldering and changing some defective components from the board, which has been damaged through using from past years. my advice is to have a quotation from service tech and then think about repairing it..if it is better to buy a new one..

Power goes off

Try resetting the unit.
Make sure there is no disc in the unit. With the unit on, go to the front panel and look for the STOP (square) button.
Hold it down until the unit shuts off by itself. Turn it back on it shoudl work fine.

Jammed shutter & unable to focus

Make sure first of all that you have the correct setting- is it in Macro for example, therfie in close focus mode. Or in a 'lowlight/night shot' mode - so that you get long exposures. Failing all that, as it is fairly new you are covered under warranty and you should go that route.
