SOURCE: Help! Won't turn on

Fuji suggests; "If the digital camera will not turn on, run through the "Checklist" given below. If this does not solve the problem, take the camera, the batteries, and the AC Power Adapter to an authorized FUJIFILM service center for testing and repairs. [Checklist] 1. The direction of your battery might be wrong. Confirm it and put it again. 2. Load new or fully charged batteries. 3. The battery terminals may be dirty in a way that cannot be seen (fingerprints, etc.). Wipe the terminals clean with a soft cloth. 4. Press the Power button again firmly." Cleaning the battery contacts sounds worth a try. Fuji also say; "Please use only alkaline batteries or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries with Fujifilm digital cameras Please note that instruction manuals provided with Fujifilm digital cameras recommend that only alkaline batteries or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are used with those digital cameras which require AA or AAA type batteries. If other types of batteries are used together with an AC adaptor, this may result in the rare occurrence of the battery overheating. Please do not use batteries other than those recommended in our instruction manuals." Check that the type of battery is correct Did you buy the camera new? is it still under warranty? Worth checking. Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: Won't stay turned on

Since mine was only a day or two old, I took it back to the store and got it replaced. Since then, it's been fine. Hope you have the same option.

Ya, the transfer wizard in Windows only gets the pics. For the vids you have to go into MyComputer, and your cam will show as removable media. From this folder, you can copy the vids: they will show no File Type, but the pics do.

If this doesn't work for you, try the Fuji update for Windows and try again:

SOURCE: CAn veiw old picture but the evf/lcd screen is black?

Your shutter is probably stuck closed over the lens inside. Have a look in to your cameras lens and see if you can see the inner lens or just the shutter closed over it.
Will require servicing

SOURCE: snowy lcd screen and the eye view is also snowy

Test the camera by taking a picture and saving to the memory card. Then download it from the card to the computer and view it. If it is clear, the problem is in the playback system or the LCD.

In Chile just bought a camera Lumix DMC FZ70, zooming only works in automatic mode AI in the other modes only works zoom 1 to 3x, please indicate what should I do

Zoom 1x to 3x sounds like the limits of optical zoom. The other zoom option may be digital zoom, which merely interpolates pixels to give the impression of a larger picture, and, as you reach the limit of the zoom, the picture quality may be so degraded that the image is unusable.

Fujifilm FinePix S1600 The monitor display is not working. Can it be replaced and if so how easy is it?

It could be that you have it set for EVF which means that you are using the tiny view finder instead of the LCD screen? It should have a button close to the view finder labeled EVF/LCD, you can alternate between the LCD screen or the tiny viewfinder? This function if mainly to conserve battery power or if you are out in the sun and cannot frame a shot and so you use the view finder like the old cameras, hope this might help you?

Have a fuji finepix S5600, but my lcd remains black even the camera is on! i can see the pictures i already made at the lCD. But LCD is not working if i want to make new pictures??

Hello, I think I know what the problem is..we'll see. On the back of the s5600 there is a button marked EVF and LCD(EVF on top LCD underneath) try clicking this button to see if your LCD screen becomes available, only one of these can be used at a time and the default for playback is the LCD screen. However if you have set it to EVF it will revert back to this format when you leave playback and try take new footage. I hope this helps and it is nothing more complicated. I have some problems myself and know how it feels. Alan

My s5000 screen is all white in record mode. It breifly had a picture then when I pushed the shutter it went white again????

Does the EVF work? The small view finder above the LCD screen. You can switch to it using the EVF/LCD button on the right side above the main display. If it is okay then you'll likely need a replacement LCD.
