When you click Print then right click on your HP ptinter - click Properties - Paper Quality tab - click Paper source and select Tray 2 - Click OK - then OK to print. You can change the paper type in Tray 2 into Tray 1 and vice versa to save going into Properties to change the Tray selection.
When you print a document you can go to printer properties and select Paper Source then Tray 1 or Tray 2 before you print. My HP printer I have white paper in Tray 1 and recycled paper in Tray 2.
try when you get to print , you go to properties or printer settings and click on the draw number yo want the paper to feed from apply and then make it your default drawer
Remove the all orange tape from the outside of the printer.
Remove orange tape from paper tray 2.
Remove the orange packing tape from inside paper tray 3.
Remove the spacer from inside the print cartridge area.
Load all paper trays.
Pull the paper trays completely out of the printer.
Press the blue tab on the rear paper length guide and adjust the rear guide so that the pointer matches the size of the paper to be loaded.
Move the side width guides outward to match the desired paper size.
Add the media to the paper trays, make sure that it is flat in the tray at all four corners. Keep the media below the height tabs on the sides and rear of the tray. Push down on the metal lift plate to lock it in place.
Slide the trays back into the printer.
Install the print cartridge.
Remove the print cartridge from the packaging.
Rock the print cartridge back and forth several times to "mix" the toner.
Pull the sealing tape from the end of the print cartridge to remove the entire length of the tape.
Open the top cover.
Slide the print cartridge into the unit.
Close the print cartridge door.
Connect the LAN cable (optional). (HP LaserJet 2420n, 2420dn, 2430tn, and 2430dtn models only)
Are there settings on the control panel of your printer? Is the tray 1 the MP tray? (The one that flips towards you) If so, can you change the settings of the Tray 1 to Envelope on the control panel?
