Problem with My SanDisk Sansa m230

I turn my SanDisk on it and it says "Not Enough Space for Music DB.Please free 4MB". Then on the screen it says that there is "No Files" and it doesn't play any songs, though I do have MP3 files that show up when SanDisk plunged into computer. Although there was more than 200MB of free space, I deleted 4MB but it didn't work. Please help me!

For os x - plug it in, let the computer recognise it, then when it's still plugged in switch off (hold down menu button on the device), unplug, switch on, plug in, and hey presto!

anyway, i think it just worked for me. erm...

When you delete files on the sandisk it just moves them to an invisable folder labeled .trash inorder to free up some space you need to delete the files inside this invisable folder. if you are using windows then plug in the device and open it. go into you folder options and make sure it has show hidden files selected. If you are using a linux os then go into your view menu and select show hidden files. this should make the .trash folder appear. hope this helps.

When connected to your computer, go to your My Computer folder, and right click on your Mp3 player. You should see "Format Device". This wipes the entire thing. All music will be gone, but it might reset it.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Everything is wiped out and so is the radio! Please help !!

The Music DB refers to the information (i.e. - Artist, Album, etc.).

The device need you to free up 6MB so it can create this.

Connect the device to the PC and delete several songs until you have at least 6MB free.

Disconnect it, restart, and youre all set.

Best of Luck.
