Question about HP LaserJet P2015 Printer

1 Answer

There is no paper Jam. on the control panel the jam light remains on. There is no connection between the printer and the computer. But the cable is ok, because it works on the same other printer.

When we try to install the driver software that comes together with the printer, to copy the driver files to the computer there is no connection between the computer hardware and the printer. There is no paper jam, but the jam light is on always. I think it is the control board problem. If it is send me the circuit board diagram so as to see the problem on the board. My email address is [email protected] We need an urgent respond from you, because 2 identical printer out of four have the same problem.

Remove side & back covers before starts is activity:1. Check whether printer initializing after powering on? If the error appearing after initializing check is there any paper jammed under the registration assm area.
2. If the error showing straight away after power on, check paper jam in duplex unit. check paper out sensor & sensor flag located in fuser assembly . Fuser assm located at back side of the printer.
3. Remove and refix all connectors on DC controller ( you can observe the connector below user assembly..

SOURCE: What paper jam?

Does the printer even try to pick a piece of paper from the supply tray? If not, then it would appear that a sensor somewhere in the paper path is bad, either mechanically or electronically. Often, these sensors have a lever which touches the paper. If by chance the lever is broken or stuck it won't give a correct message to the logic circuit. If by chance the sensor is electronically defective, it would still give a bad message to the logic, and it would need to be replaced. Logic circuitry could be bad, in which case, replace the printer. With the lowcost printer/all-in-one units these days, it seems fixya has a continual flow of inquiries. Maybe this will give you some help.

SOURCE: Paper Jam

Sometimes the "paper jam" with no paper is due to the printer not being able to feed paper in to the machine. You send a print job to it...printer attempts to feed paper but can't...then you get the paper jam message and ofcourse there is no paper in the machine. Powering off and on should clear the message. Make sure you clear the print job from the print que or the same thing will happen on power off/power on because the computer will still try to send the print job to the printer when turned on. I have found that all of HP's machines that have this style of paper feed mechanism fails prematurely. The pickup roller is too small for one but as soon as the roller is coated with dust it begins to fail. You can take a Q-tip and go in from the back to try and clean the roller. Water is fine.

SOURCE: My HP Deskjet 3740 had a paper jam. I removed all

You have to check if there is still a piece of paper jammed in the printers rollers/gears. It is inside when u take the lid off. After that you can try to recalibrate your printer from the software which came along with the printer. Try these and give more clarification.

HOW TO CONNECT PRINTER TO MAC

<br />Acquire the Mac printer driver either by downloading it or getting it on CD. Most printers come with the drivers needed to run the printer. You can also check the printer manufacturer's website to get the correct drivers.<br /><br /><br />Be sure that your printer is connected to your Mac and turned on. Reboot your computer if you connected the printer after your last reboot.<br /><br />Double click on the .dmg or installer file for the driver. If you got the software on CD instead of downloading it, load the CD into your Mac and then double click on the .dmg file. This is called "unpacking" the software.<br /><br /><br />"Mount" the printer driver by copying the files to your hard drive. To do this, just drag and drop the files into the folder where you want to save your software. The Mac will then copy the files to the location you specified.<br /><br /><br />Follow any further instructions the installation software gives you to complete the installation process.<br /><br /><br />"Eject" the .dmg or installer file. To do this, drag the file from your desktop into the trash can.<br /><br /><br />Open the Print Center on your Mac and then click the "ALT" key and "Add" at the same time. You should see a list of printers that includes the one you are installing. Choose this printer and click the "Add" button in the dialog box.<br /><br /><br />Reboot your computer if you do not see the printer on the list. Be sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac first.<br /><br /><br />Your printer might already be on the printer list before you install the manufacturer software. My laptop doesnt have a cd-rom, how can i install the printer?

You can try downloading just the driver of the printer and then install it on your computer.

You may also borrow an external dvd drive so you can use the cd that came with the printer.

Or if you have another computer with cd rom drive, you can insert the cd there, copy the installation files to a usb flash drive and then run the setup.exe in the computer with no cd rom drive so you can install the printer.

I can no get my printer to scan to my computer

Do you have the full software (MP Navigator) installed? Get that software here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp510#DriversAndSoftware and select your OS. Since the printer is a USB printer, is it directly connected and did you install the software before connecting the USB cable? If you didn't install the software before you connected the USB cable, uninstall the generic driver from the OS and remove the USB cable. Then install the software.

If the full software was installed before connecting the printer, try a new cable and a direct connection (instead of a print server or USB hub). Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer and can fail when the printer works. Make sure the monitoring program is running before attempting to scan from the all-in-one.

Next try to scan from the computer first. There are buttons in the MP Navigator software that set the destination and default settings of the buttons on the all-in-one. After you scan at least one item, you will have a better idea of the settings that you need to use. See the MP Navigator help files for the details.

If you install the basic Canon driver, you will be able to scan but not from the unit directly. Windows XP and newer all come with Paint that can acquire scans (File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan). Windows Vista and Windows 7 have Windows Fax and Scan that can also scan files (New Scan). Photo Gallery in Windows Live (comes with Vista) also handles scanning.

The generic OS driver usually only runs the printer.

I hope this helps.
