My 1610 does the same as Lyndon's: gives the error message and fails to initialise.

I have a HP PSC 1610 All-In-One. I keep getting the following error:

I have updated all drivers. I have removed the ink cartridges and re-installed. Printer still will not print. Any suggestions.

  • 34jill Feb 21, 2008

My printer turns on briefly, turns off and then gives the error message:
0xc0620004. I tried the HP suggestion of unplugging the USB while keeping the power on, removing the printer cartridges and waiting for the install printer cartridges message, but the error just keeps flashing.

Same problem as Lyndon (error 0xc0620004 411:lib_micci2.c). HP online chat tech support guy walked me through powering down etc then said 'looks like a hardware malfunction with the unit, contact your local support'. My printer is 2 years old, 6800 copies made. Good luck to us all!

    I have the same problem.
I found on the internet that you can unplug the printer, press and hold "OK" and "Cancel" at the same time.
Maybe it can solve the problem.
In my case, it didn't unfortunately.
I've read that it's a firmware problem and that the board has to be replaced...

Does anyone know how to reset the printer? Or flash the firmware?

I have the same error sign and problem -- printer is about 1-1/2 years old. nothing seems to work . Tried reseting, looked fro jams, etc. The only thing I have done differently is I tried refilling my ink cartridges at the local Walgreens .

T.S Steps 1. Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on. 2. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges. 3. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display. 4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and wait for one minute. 5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button. 6. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges. 7. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page. 8. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print a print job from the computer.

No solution found for this "0xc06200004 411:lib_micci2.c" error on my HP PSC 1610 more than throw it away and buy a new brand Samsung. This is the second HP printer that gives problems with bare use.

OK...just fixed mine with same error message....way back up underneath, small scrap of paper kept causing a jam...modified a plastic fork and pushed it out while also advancing the rollers with my fingers...realignment commenced...all is well with HP!!

Prani, i worked on my printer for almost an hour, you solved it in one minute, thank you.

A mi me pasó lo mismo y el problema estaba en el carro de impresión. Espero que les sirva.

Unable to install SCAN functions for HP PSC 1610

If you are having issues using your PSC 1610 on the Vista operating system there is actually an easy workaround using "paint" (I'm using "SnagIT").

Check it out:

For whatever reason you can't use the actual button on the printer/scanner but when you open paint you can scan the doc from your computer.

Hope this helps!

Help on HP PSC 1610

The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP 1610) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.
