We got a used (dropped) sony trinitron. There was no remote, and we can't seem to make any work. We bought a universal, and the code did not work. We got a Sony Receiver and that remote won't work.
How would we tell if the Infared Sensor won't work?

Re: Sony Trinitron 30" no remote seems to work
If you want to test the voltage you can do so at connector CN002 on the main board. You should have 5 volts DC at pin 4 and at pin 5 marked SIRCS (sony infared remote control system)should be 5 volts as well but, will drop to about 2.5 volts when any button is pressed on the remote. If it doesn't change then you should change the HR board wich houses the IR rec. and associated components.
