I purchased a RCA MODEL HD56W58. Back in Jan 7 2006. Have had nothing but problems with this set. When it works is great. The bads starting getting worse in early Oct. tech can out to reset somethings. Then in Dec the tv really starting to have problems It would start shutting down intermittently every 2 to 6 hrs with a terrible sound going for the speakers. They pick up the set on 12-7-06 had to wait a few weeks for the part. The part was a MD3 Module PN:265950. The set was return to us on 1-13-07, 5 WEEKS later. The very next day the problems started again. The tech said it maybe a bad module. I just think I have a defected set. They have be waiting for a replace module since 1-15-07. With today being the 25. I need some help or suggestion on this issue. I even have a extended warranty thru RCA. This is going to be my 4th service on the is with 5 months. Why will they not replace the set.
This model has a history of being plaged with bad solder connections, and that may be your problem still today. If your state has "lemon laws" you might want to pursue that venue if contacting RCA directly doesn't produce results. RCA's have been my bread and butter for at least the last 12 or so years in the service business but I would not buy one today for myself.
