I filled my Maytag LAT8416AAE washer with water. Now it will not run. I checked the breaker, it was fine. Ran the time switch to every cycle, still nothing. It seems as if it does not recognize the fact it is ready to go through a wash cycle.

Re: washer will not work after filling it with water
Shawnie, sounds like your lid switch is giving you problems. They revised the switch, it comes in a kit with instructions. Part number 12001908. Take a small screw driver with the lid closed and push in on the actuator to verify that this is the problem. Catriver..post back.

If i understand correctly you are stating the breaker shut down which means the house breaker for the outlet power kicked out. You might try plugging something else into the outlet to see if it also kicks out, say a vacuum cleaner of a drill.
You need a amp clamp to test for something shorted or grounded (or ohm out windings) which requires trained service........you do not want to get a shock
Check your drain hose. It only goes into the drain stand pipe from 4 to 6 inches. Insertion any further will creat a siphon and constantly drain the tub. The stand pipe needs to be at least 36 inches from the floor.
If this machine has been installed and worked for a while, are you sure nothing else has been pluged into the same circuit as the dishwasher and overloading it. If the element is actualy heating up I doubt anything is wrong with it to kick out the breaker. Check out what other stuff goes out with the breaker off.
well i am having about the same problem, but mine won't even fill, the dryer works but the washer won't fill or turn on at all. my husband had it all apart, too the control assembly to parts place and they said that hardly ever goes bad so it is still sitting unusable with no answer or money to spend on it in site.
