I'll post my experience/method that I did several times over on my 2 Atrix phones (Both AT&T)

Both phones had unlocked bootloader
I upgraded both phones via the Automatic Update (Motorola Website tool...it downloads the SBF and flashes it to your phone)
At that point you're at 141, stock, unrooted (I did this over unlocked bootloader)
Then I used the Automatic Bootloader Unlock 4.2 to do fastboot oem unlock
I root using preinstall method and restore from Titanium Backup

I have not run into any problems going to and from 141 with unlocked bootloader (I did not try going to FroYo but GB works fine)

My Motorola Defy worked just fine but then it became hot while it was in my pocket. And when i took it out, only the motorola logo showed up. I didnt drop it; the battery wasnt run out but i dont know why...

Whilst in bootloader mode, it is ready to handle a new ROM flashing process. In that state, connect it to your computer and run RSD Lite. It should appear there as connected. Click the '...' mark (browse) in RSD Lite and select the .sbf file (the ROM) to be flashed. Then, click 'Start'. Wait several minutes, and don't detach your phone from your PC until RDS Lite says 'PASSED'.
With a new ROM on your phone, the bootloop status you are currently experiencing should go away.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can assist you any further.
Regards, Carlos

Hi there,

Well the problem seems due to some firmware issue, might be the firmware is corrupt. first of all you can try to reset your phone to the factory default settings....... If further you have the same problem then you can try updating the firmware on your phone, follow the below steps to know how to update firmware -

1- You 1st have to have the motorola phone drivers installed on your computer. Get them here: http://data.mofan.mobi/index.php?dir..._32_v3.5.0.rar

2- Then plug in your phone with a cable and let the computer recognize your phone.

3- Unplug and go main menu-connections - usb settings-change this to modem (I keep mine set like this)

4- Download and Install rsd lite- I use version 3.9. Get it here: http://data.mofan.mobi/index.php?dir...D_LITE_3_9.rar

5- Now plug your phone back into your computer. Wait about 30 seconds so the computer recognizes your phone again.

6-Now start rsd lite. It will eventually recognize your phone. Wait 30 seconds. It will show up in the bottom window.

7- Now find where you downloaded the flash you wish to install.
Click the ... next to filename window to search your computer.

8-After you highlght the flash (the file ends in .sbt)
Click Start.

9- Now wait. It may take 5 to 10 minutes. make sure the result says PASS before you disconnect your phone.

10 - Close rsd, reboot your phone and you will be all set. Your phone is now using the new flash.

Good Luck!!

I forgot my unlock code for my moto razr V3

your firmware is corrupt, the only way to revive your phone is re flashing it.Its hard to do, and by doing it wrong may damage your phone. To safely retrieve your phone is let the experts do it or go to a near cell repair shop and let them help you out,

if you want to do it your self, try this

first you need is a RSD lite program or flash and back-up to flash or reformat your Motorola,

to enter the bootloader

hold * then the # then power button, your phone will boot to bootloader, and you will see there the flash program of your phone,

start the program rsd lite or flash and backup
then connect it to your computer VIA usb, automatically the program will detect your phone,

i prefer that you first buck up your firmware by using F&B (Flash and backup) then use RSD lite to flash your Motorola,

RSD lite its much easier to use than F&B, but for safety backup first your firmware,
