The model indicated here is rear projection that uses three picture tubes.
If rear cover is removed--can be done by removing entire front screen but there are hazards like damaging the screen---with rear cover removed clean the lens in the three round cyclinders which point up and are hard to miss===
They are the light source for the picture---there is if you look up inside and to the rear a mirror but unless grimy it rarely needs cleaning.
clean the lens with a lens cloth or even a paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on the towel.

It could be a couple of things doing it. The lead on the CRT , The Flyback and or splitter are just a few of the things that come to mind. be careful as thats high vorage and a arching CRT or Flyback lead can be very dangerous . It is usually best to callm in a professional for those kind of repairs and diagnosis unless your a skilled technician , let a repair shop handle the problem and be safe.

It is most likely just solder connections on your power supply. If the only diag LED that lights is on the supply, then thats usually the case. You can unplug the set and remove the supply to fix it with a little soldering. You have to remove the metal board supporter from the bottom of the board and solder quite a few connections. Look for cracked connections on the power connectors to the rest of the set, and also connections on the main transformer. If you need soldering experience, get a kit at radio shack and build a little project to get some practice.

I have a 532nd 53 that shuts off and red stand by lite comes on in the back. If you wait awhile and unplug it and plug it back in it will come on again and then shut off after an hour or two
