HONDA ACCORD Seats Front Assembly Recliner went down and won't go up

Elec. seat recliner went to full recline - just laid down and is stuck in this position. There is an electric motor that controls back portion as well as a lever on side of seat backrest. Seat is stuck in full recline position

I wouldn't ruin anything by trying things yourself

I would have a dealer check it out

The dealer I used in the past, has a seat specialist come
in on Wed only, around 5:30 after the service bays close
& one service writer hangs out until that person fixes a
couple vehicles seat issues

are there any other leavers or dials around the seat that you can see that may operate the back rest independantly?
can you see the motors are they intact?
is there a button that selecets the particular funtion you wish to do?
it is functional, can you test that?

You have to check the power to the recliner motor. If there is power, then replace the motor.

Seat stuck

Most of the time its the little worm gear that went bad not the switch (the gear is slipping on the fixed bracket) I pushed back on the seat real hard and hit the switch and Mine went back finally, the track/motor assembly will have to be replaced(250 from Ford) Very Common problem . ----------------------- to remove the seat  First disconnect the connectors under the seat. Remove the 3 bolts (Front Left, Front Right, Rear Right). Remove the nut from the Left Rear. Lift seat up and out.

thanks.

Front seat stays in the reclined postion..

The seat position is changed through the use of a cable that runs through a flexible tunnel, under the seat. In one case that I'm aware of, this cable got stuck around a projecting seat spring under the seat. When the seat was reclined and moved backward or forward, the cable caught on the seat spring and the seat had insufficient slack in the cable to release from the reclined position.
