DVR-550H-S copy avi files fom DVD to HD

I can't get the DVR-550H-S to copy avi files from DVD to HD. If i choose copy DVD/CD ->HD the sreen says "can not copy disk". I think it has something to do with the disk format, but don't know for sure. Anybody know how to get this to work......Thnx Richie

I tried finalised disks as wel as not finalised, both did not work. It just might have to do with: "It may not be possible to record from a dvd disc that is recorded in another DVD recorder or in a PC", as stated in the manual :-(
Of course the files are not copy-protected........

SOURCE: PIONEER DVR-520H DISC PROBLEM

Hi, Had one that was playing just great, then the next thing ya know is that it won't recognize any dvd in it. Gave a "No Disc" message. So, I called Panasonic, (without thinking first) they say that it is under warranty and to ship it to a place in Pa, I am in NY. So, I ship it on Thursday, according to UPS they get it on Friday. I called on Monday, nope, they didn't get it, so I explain that UPS says that they have it. I next talk to shipping who put me on hold and go looking. He comes back and says yep, they have it, but it may be a week before they look at it. I give him my # again, and tell him to call me. Yep, he calls back later that morning, says that labor is only for 90 days. I told him that the rep said it was under warranty, yes he says, parts are 1 yr. $89.95 to fix it. I tell him to hold it. I remember buying it from Shop4.com and they have a 2 yr warranty with it. I called them, they approve it immediately approve it, and get this, the repair shop is a 10 minute drive. I then call back Panasonic on Tuesday a.m. They promise to ship it back. I call Wed, nope, they didn't get around to it. It is now Friday a.m., and no player. I am pissed at myself first, then the rep, then the shipping dept. WTF? So I say to you, if you do buy it, get it from Shop4.com...at 299 it is a steal. This way you get a 2 yr service warranty for no extra charge. Sam

SOURCE: how to record dvd in ordinary format?

I will presume it plays back fine on your dvd recorder.
In this case, you need to "finalize disc" for it to be playable on other dvd players.

Also, possibly, If you are using a dvd-ram disc, you must make sure that the dvd-player you are trying to use even supports dvd-ram. Most will NOT.

Also, Make sure you are not recording in VR mode. Only some very new dvd-players will support VR mode discs.

Tevion Dvd player won't read burned cd's or dvd's.

Transfer your .avi movie files onto a USB stick & simply plug them into the Tevion DVD player.
Select the usb button on the remote to activate & choose which film to play from the menu that pops up.
Good luck!

I burn a dvd from an iso using 2 different computers but they won't play on standard dvd players. only on computer or a portable player

'Standard' DVD players will not play computer video formats such as .AVI or .DIVX or .WMV or .MP4 whereas the 'generic' and cheaper (chinese) Players will support them (they will state that they support MPEG, DIVX and MPEG 3 & 4 formats).
Unless your ISO results in a properly DVD formatted media (with multiple files and file types including .DAT), it simply will not work.
Note that many 'standard' (and branded) DVD players will not support many rewritable CD or DVD.
Hope my information will help you assess your problem

I can not burn DVD with the software provided for my JVC full HD

Hi there.
You need to covert the .tod file to an.avi file before you can convert it to DVD and burn it off.
Get tod converter here >>>>>

You have to convert the tod to avi first then use your normal software to make the DVD

DVD s to HD

Hi!

Its not that easy as is sounds to do that.
First of all there is probably some protection on the dvd that wont allow you to copy it, therefor you need to crack that protection

Second, you need to remake that dvd to an "img" file, the dvd contains two folders as it is now, one called Audio TS and one called Video Ts, you need to remake those to an IMG file, that you can do in Nero

Third, you need a program to mount up the IMG file so you can play it, for that you need a program like Deamon Tools or any similiar program.

So if you manage to do all above, every time you going to play that dvd you must mount it in Deamon ( or any similiar program), you cant just copy it and press play and watch it.
The hard thing is to crack the protection on a dvd since there is so many diferent of them out there.

Good luck
Nic
