Hi,
I love my Jornada 720 and recently bought a WFC11 Linksys Instant Wireless Card Version 3 (as recommended on a few user boards) so I could use my Jornada to go online instead of lugging my laptop around with me.
I downloaded the driver from the Web -- wfc11_wince_dr.exe -- perhaps the driver is the problem, perhaps the way I got it onto the Jornada is....I don't know. Installing the driver was really hard and I'm still not sure I did it properly....my PC and the Jornada said the install completed -- and I did get asked for an ISP address. One option was to have the system assign an address and I chose that.
The green lights on the card went on for awhile....but went off and stayed off.
I tried installing again -- and that seemed to create an even worse mess. It took HOURS for the second Install to work but finally, it did.
When I tried to connect to the Web, I get the message "can't make connection to server." Or maybe it said "can't find server."
The green lights on the card went off and stayed off.
The WFC Configuration Utility asks for settings -- I tried different ones --nothing worked. The people at Linksys were really nice, but no one knew anything about Jornada.
The router I have at home is a Motorola that has connected without problems to many different laptops == not just mine.
I have spent multiple hours on this and what I would really like is for someone to just do it for me! Although I am not very technical, I can usually manage all the installs and even fixes on my own computers but this has me stumped. It seems to be a hard problem even for people who ARE technical. Can you recommend an expert in the Mystic, CT area to whom I can bring the Jornada and cards (yes, I even have TWO of them in case that was the problem!) ?
Many thanks!
Libby
I use a Cisco Systems - Cisco Aironet 350 series wifi card, uses the built-in Cisco drivers and works a treat.
Sadly got the screen calibration wandering problem though :o(

Well, I have a similar problem. In my case, I have a D-Link DWL-650 wireless card that worked when I originally installed a driver from HP for Windows CE 3.0, SP 15588. Unfortunately I let the backup battery run down and the Jornado lost my installation. I cannot find a copy of SP 15588 - HP does not support it anymore - and the other version of software that I have which will activate the card still will not permit connection to the server. I've been trying to fix this since last summer without success. If someone has the driver, I'd be most appreciative.
