I have a Daewoo 46 inch plasma with a black screen.
Sometimes my TV will turn to a black screen. It seems to happen at random times. I will turn it off and back on and sometimes it will work then some times it won't.

Sounds like you either have a faulty LCD panel tab, failed LCD driver board, LCD/t-con panel bad connection, or a bad t-con. You will need to get a diagnoses to be sure.
This tv is not repairable only can be replaced the Plasma screen itself. Not woth it,replacing the plasma screen, will cost the same as a new tv.This problems,u discribing is the Plasma screen itself sure comming to used and ages. Not any electronic boards componnent.Because the floorscents Plasma gas u seeing on the screen itself forming and lighting up the Plasma screen itself.
Sounds like your panel might be going out or a faulty video card. This is the first time I have heard of a solid pink screen on a plasma. Usually this happens on LCDs, though they sometimes go white and stay white, which does signal a bad panel. tv needs repair
YES YOU HAVE DRY JOINTS UNPLUG FROM POWER SUPPLY REMOVE THE BACK/ INSIDE YOU SHOULD SEE AT THE BOTTOM SEVERAL RIBENED CONECTORS FROM THE SCREEN ITSELF? UNDERNEATH YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE 2 OR 4 COMPONENTS CAREFULLY APPLY A HOT SOLDERING IRON AN SOLDER THE ONE THAT YOU ARE HAVEING PROBLEMS YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE FULL PICKTURE AGAINE ANY PROBS email me [email protected]
I had the same problem with the flicker. Mine was a Flicker followed by a greenish line through the screen. It got worse then after 2 months the tv stoped working the power didnt come on at all. I Im taking it to bget fixed. The guy said it has somthing to do with a burnt out switch in the unit.
It will burn into the screen overtime. The Akai units have a resistor on the address board that feeds the PDP that usually has a crack in the solder on one or both ends of it. There are about 4 address boards that are right below the panel itself and the suspect one is the board right below the line that is appearing. Have someone with solder skills repair it.
Ok, this is probably what has happened, you say that you have played games on your tv, well the thing is with HD and Plasma Screen tv's is that when you play Hi-Res games on them the games backdrop will burn itself into the screen, causing the screen to turn dark and not reveal the correct picture it should. People need to learn about this!!!!! Playing games on HD and Plasma tv's will screw up your resolution!!!
