PM800-M2 No sound

HI I just built a new computer using the EliteGroup PM800M2 mother board. Device manager detected the on board sound device, but when I play songs, no sound is given out. I changed a tested good speaker, same problem. Could it be the BIOS problem? How do I set up in the system BIOS? Please help K

If you don't have the manual for the PM800-M2 dowload it from the ECS website.

There is a front panel audio header at the back of the motherboard just in front of the onboard sound rear connector.
If the front panel out put isn't being used the front panel audio connector requires 2 jumpers to be on the header in the correct locations.

If the built-in sound was disabled in the BIOS Windows wouldn?t have detected it so I don?t think that is the problem but it certainly won?t hurt to check. I would be more inclined to suspect a problem driver, defective speaker socket or perhaps a problem with the sound chip on the motherboard in that order. If you haven?t done so you might try reinstalling the sound driver that came with the motherboard instead of letting Windows use its driver. Also if you?ve been using the back speaker line-out socket (middle one) you might try using the front panel headphone connection to eliminate the socket as the problem. If this doesn?t work you might also try setting loading the BIOS Fail-Save Default settings. As far as how to verify the built-in sound is on in the BIOS, during the initial startup you will see a prompt to hit the Del button to enter setup. Press the Del button and the main menu should appear. Use the up and down arrow key to highlight Integrated Peripherals and then hit enter. The AC97 Audio line should show Auto. If you have any more questions let us know and please don?t forget to rate the posting.

Hello I currently have elitegroup PM800M2

The motherboards have standard screw holes. This is something like "one size fits all". You will be able to mount any motherboard in that case.
