Televison I turned my televison on this morning and there was no picture and there is a high piched sound. The TV would not turn off by remote nor by pushing the off button on the TV I had to unplug it.I plug it into a different outlet but the TV still had no picture just a high piched sound.

The high pitched sound is probably comming from the power supply, possibly due to its trying to drive voltage into a shorted component in the high voltage deflection circuits. You may be lookng at about a $250 repair. If it has been used a lot and its picture quality didn't knock your socks off, I would replace it with a HDTV set. A 37 inch LCD from Toshiba might be a good place to start and should do nicely for you.

Tv OK this morning. Came back from doctors and turned on and there is no picture. Sound is ok.

If you haven't yet, then try:
[1] Check all inputs (AV, RF, USB, etc via remote control.
[2] With remote and panel buttons, try turn brightness up.
Otherwise there may be a screen or board fault.
If all fails, please reply to Fixya again with details of make, model, and error faults such as blinking lights, etc.

I have a 4K 50 inch tv. I accidentally set my book on top of tv controller & now this really wierd, fast, kind of high piched voice come on to say what the tv is doing. How can l turn this off?

if the voice comes from the remote, take the batteries out and wait a minute and put them back. If its coming from the TV, do a factory reset via the TVs menu. If the noise is coming from everywhere and no where at the same time, then you have a haunted TV and you need a electronics exorcist.
