We recently upgraded one of our workstations from Win 2K to XP Pro. Once we did the switch stopped working. Both connected PC's are on XP pro now. When I connect the Com1 port to the PC the printer works fine, however when I try to use the switch with the new PC I get the following: PCL XL Error Subsystem: image Error: Missing Data Operator: ReadImage Position: 12 Except for the PCL XL Error the other 4 fields give a different error message each time. Now the other PC prints without any problem. I have moved the connection from port A to B, same issue. I have tried different cables, same issue. It seems that once the new PC was brought in, the Belkin AutoSwitch stopped working correctly. Is this a known issue?
Please advise of further info. All the connected PC's are running on XP. One is not connecting to the network. Sounds like the "Local Area Network" setting needs to be set for "Automatically assign an IP". Go to the start menu, select "Run" and type in "CMD". Type "IPCONFIG" and enter. This will display your network setting and IP address. If there is no IP address, then you will enever have a connection. If the IP address is listed, it will display a unique IP address, a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and the ip address of the gateway. Please respond with any further.
