If the picture was somewhat 3d looking before with colors out of line etc--what you have is a convergence problem that has got worse.

Seen a number of sets with this problem--on this model only way to know is locate the two chips, get at them and unsolder all pins on each--if set then comes on (will look bad) you know both chips need to be replaced.

If this is beyond you set is old enough to just replace it--average shop cost for this is over 200 parts and labor.

Let me know if you have questions.

hard to tell what your problem is as if the tubes are lit when on you should have some kind of picture--if picture is there but dark or dull clean the lens.

SOURCE: cleaning cobwebs from philips rear projection tv model 51PW9363/1

I had the exact same problem and the fix is easy to do. Unplug the TV first of all and wheel it out so you can easily get to all of the rear screws.

  1. Remove the screws from the ventilated back panel (the piece of wood with a bunch of holes in it surrounding the AV connection panel.
  2. Remove the wood panel you just unscrewed.
  3. Remove all screws from the upper plastic case on the back.
  4. Remove the back plastic case carefully. This is a little tricky due to two metal pins that it hangs on. Lift it upwards and you should be able to free it from these pins
  5. At this point you should be able to see the entire workings of the TV, and consequently the massive amount of dust that has accumulated.
  6. Carefully take a vacuum and remove all the cobwebs, taking care not to bump the mirror or the lenses.
  7. First, I used some compressed air to clean off the lenses and then used a clean microfiber towel to remove all the dust from the lenses, the mirror, and the screen on the inside. Make sure the part you are wiping the mirror and lenses off with is free from any dust or dirt or you will risk scratching them.
  8. Reverse the dissasembly process to put the case back together.
  9. I went through the convergance settings at this point and found that they were all out of calibration and as such recalibrated them. Use the mulitpoint calibration for best results.
  10. Enjoy a much cleaner brighter TV!

How do i connect nad av 316 with an lg tv ?

The NAD from what I've seen of the back of it has no digital audio inputs. So unless the TV has standard audio out RCA type connectors you will struggle. If it has a scart socket you can buy a scrat to phono converter. An image will be posted with this message.
However the NAD has only Dolby Surround. It has not got a Dolby Digital decoder so it can never produce the Dolby Digital sound used on DVD/Blue Ray discs or that found on HD TV broadcasts.
As you didn't say which TV model number, I can't say anything more except if it is an HD model and has digital sound connections you really need to upgrade your Receiver to one that has the latest features.

How should I connect my denon avr 1906 to my 32" ES6300 Series 6 SMART 3D Full HD LED TV Model numberUE32ES6300U in order to get dolby digital from the tv's tuner please?

Use an optical cable.

Be aware though. Your TV has a DVB-T tuner. It picks up the Freeview standard definition (SD) channels, but not the Freeview HD ones. Dolby Digital sound only comes from the Freeview HD channels.

Your TV will pass Dolby Digital from any source connected to a HDMI port to the Optical Out. It will also pass DTS. But the internal Freeview DVB-T tuner doesn't generate Dolby Digital, just stereo and stereo with Dolby Surround encoding where you use ProLogic II for decoding.

I hooked up a new lg hd tv via hdmi through my digital cable box. I am not receiving true surround sound, only dolby II. I have my box digitally hooked up to the receiver and the HDTV digitally hooked up...

It's possible that the TV broadcast isn't in true surround, and is only dolby encoded.
You can try going back to the component hookups, but I am not sure that will solve your issue.

I have a new Samsung HD TV with optical out. The LX3000D has also a optical out. How do i get the dolby surround out of mine television? or how can i get the sound of the tv out of the LX3000D?

The digital connectors on this model are outputs only so you won't get surround sound on anything that is transmitted FROM your TV. Don't really understand the point of a digital OUT port on the back of a surround sound system as you're more likely to want stuff going IN.

HOW TO CONNECT SAMSUNG 40 LCD TV TO SAMSUNG SURROUND TZ215 THRUGH SKY + HD BOX.

you will need the following = HDMI LEAD
Optical Audio Lead
Red and White phono Lead

Sky HD Box > connect to Tv via HDMI Lead.

Sky HD box > Connect the optical Audio, and the Phono Leads To your Surrounds sound.

The reason I am wanting you to connect the phono's as well as the optical audio out. Not all programs are transmitted with Dolby D so you will need these for normal sound to come through your surround sound.

One last thing I would like you to check is the sound settings on your Hd box.

OLD PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 4, 2, then ensure that Dolby D is displayed if not highlight and using the blue button change this to Dolby D. then arrow down to save.

NEW PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 0, Arrow along to SOUND then arrow down and change this to DOLBY D Then press the GREEN button.

Hope this Helps you out. IF so please leave a thumbs up

Same problem as JoshJOhnson posted on Jan 21 08

What is the chassis number on that set. We have a complete Chassis that we are parting out HDTV magnavox with the DPTV 305 through 345 which should be the same chassis as your set. We sell used parts this is a working tv with a cracked blue tube were selling it as a complete chassis or individual boards on our site. Let me know if you may be interested. Chirping comes from the deflection circuits possibly flyback related.
