Question about Fuji FinePix E500 Digital Camera
Hi, I recently tried to delete one photo on my camera but I accidentally pressed clear all, I realised straight away and turned my camera off in the middle of deleting. This has now brought up an error message on my camera when turning it on "Card not initialised" and I am unable to view or take any photos. Please let me know if it is possible to fix this and retreive any photos of if I have lost everything for good? Regards, Miki
I had a similar issue with my Fuji E500. I had been working with it on my Mac, which automatically brings up iPhoto when it's plugged in via the USB port. When I removed the camera from the USB port, it turned on with a Card not initialized message. If your situation was similar to mine, here's how I fixed it: Plug the camera back into the USB port and turn it on. When iPhoto loads, Got to finder and select Eject (unknown) device. Then, when you disconnect the camera and turn it on, the message about not initialized doesn't show up and you're back in business. I hope this helps.

Go to the screen where you would normally view your photographs, press menu and format the camera.

I couldn't find the format function in my Finepix Z70 so I formatted my 'not-initialized' memory card in my DSLR and when I put it back again in the Z70, it worked. Apparently, computer formatting, which I tried in vain, doesn't work but formatting in any other camera with a formatting function does work.

I have FUJIFILM FinePix E550.I have similar issue you have. Yesterday evening I took few picture and load it to my pc. Then I deleted the photos from my memory. After that I find out lenses freeze and can not go back and open the lenses on the LCD monitor show ZOOM ERROR .I try the different way try to get the zoom back. It seems no use at all. And this morning I get to the web site to see the Fujiifilm customer review. I find out a lot of people have the same problem .I think this model have defect. Some people try to pull the zooming to the maximum and turn it until hear click sound. I did that. My zoom errors actually result. I hope this will help you to result your problem.Good luck!

i have a fujifilm a510 camera i took my olympus xd picturecard out to transfer my holiday pics to my computer it didnt work and now the camera says card not initialized.
i do not want to loose my pics from the card as they are of a good memorable holiday . can i retreive my pics and get the card working again ?
When i turn on my camera with an xD card inside it comes up with the message 'card not initialized', and i'm unable to view or take any photos using the memory card. This used to happen with a memory card so i got a new one, but now with every card i put in, it comes up with the message.
When i try to upload photos from the card onto my computer, it says theres a formatting problem with the card. I've tried to format it, losing all the pictures in the process, but it seems to be unable to complete the formatting.
I have a Fujifilm Finepix E550. There were about 80 to 90 pictures on my XD Card. When I tried to load it to my computer, it started to transfer the pictures then it stopped and said "Error" - "No Image". I put the card back into my camera then I got the message "Card Not Initialized". I took the card to a Sam's Club and to a Longs Drugs store to use their digital photo machines and it still says "No Files Found". Are my pictures really lost forever? What did I do wrong? Please help!
