I have recently bought a Compac Presario that uses an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series display adapter and my monitor is a LG Studioworks 700s. In the power scheme I have set my monitor to go off after a period of time. This generally work but in no time at all the monitor is on again. What is causing the monitor to virtually always be on? I have updated the video card and monitor drivers and it still occurs. Any advice?

Re:
I am not familure with that type of monitor however I found through being a IT tech that some monitors have a setting that allows windows to control sleep and wake commands. You might want to take a look at your monitor controls usually located in front of the monitor. This may solve your problem.

hello...the way is try to open the Bios Settings then disable the on board video then set primary AGP/PCIE slot Video Card to run then try again to install the video card driver but 1st you need uninstall the old driver..thanks and Good Luck..have a nice day..^_^
Yes you can but there should be an option in the monitor settings for DVI... Maybe if you go into safe mode and attempt adjusting settings for the ati for the dvi output, from what I hear that monitor is nice with the DVI option would be aa shame to lose that.
It should be able to do it from memory.
Even just opening the standard Microsoft controls you should be able to click on the second monitor and at the very least extend onto it.
When you installed the drivers for the card, did you install just the drivers, or the Catalyst Control Centre set. It is alot bigger then just the drivers package. If you installed the control centre, then you should have the ATI icon in your task bar.
