Pete, You shouldn't have to reformat your hard drive to get a printer working. when you insert or remove the mini cards you must stop the device in windows. Windows views the card and the printer as a hard drive. To remove the card click the green arrow icon in the lower righthand corner of the desktop. Go to the Epson site and download the latest drivers for you model and if available download and update the firmware for the printer. Tim

When I let my Thinkpad T40 go into sleep or hibernation, and then reawaken it, it won't recognize the Epson Stylus CX6600. When I turn the printer on, I get the message "USB Device Not Recognized." I tried rebooting, and that sometimes helped. At one point I removed the Epson software and reinstalled the printer, which helped. And I'm trying to avoid letting the Thinkpad sleep or hibernate.
I have a Thinkpad and Epson CX6600. I don't use the card reader. When I connect the printer I get "USB device not recognized." For a while deleting and reinstalling the printer helped, and I avoided letting the computer go into sleep or hibernate mode. Now nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? It's about time to trash this printer.
