Question about Dell Axim X30 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Problem "booting" So, I let my battery drain down completely and resynced it with my desktop to charge the battery up. After a couple hours of it charging, the light changed colors like normal. However, when I turned it on, I had to proceed through the screen orientation setup (which was of no surprise). However, I can tap the screen for the point in the very center of the screen, but after that, nothing happens. It's like it's frozen in that one position. Is there a way to overcome this issue, or to "reboot" it? This is my first experience with PDA's, and overall, I've been pleased with it. I'd like to keep it around. If you can provide any possible solutions, it would be much appreciated.

HI You may attempt a master reset (hard reset), it is described in your documentation that come with the pda. After the master reset, things should come to normal. If not there may be a problem with your ROM memory. The ROM memory stores everything Operating Sistem related, as well as program descriptions and the software installed by default by DELL. If the ROM memory becomes corrupt such issues may happen. In this case a ROM update/reflash is required. Please post back if you need more informations.

Could be.Those batteries leak charge even when not in use.I would let it go for 24-48 hours just to be sure.Unless the batteries or charger becomes very hot.

I need to know how to use my new laptop battery correctly.

The first time you charge the battery allow 12 to 16 hours, after that 2 to 4 hours or when battery is charged. If you go on battery frequently drain it right down before charging it, this will give the maxi-um performance and longevity.

FS240BX battery how Long should it take to charge.

Hi .Charge the battery initially for 9 hours.

After the initial charge, under normal usage, your power pack should be fully charged in 3 to 6 hours. If the power pack is run-down completely, it may take up to 6 hours to become fully charged.

The red light is just a power indicator. The light will not go out, change color, or blink when the charging has been completed.

To prolong power pack life, avoid leaving the power pack on charge for extended periods of time (over 30 days without use). Although overcharging is not a safety concern, it can significantly reduce overall power pack life.

The power pack will reach optimum performance after being cycled 5 times during normal usage.

There is no need to run the batteries down completely before recharging. Normal usage is the best method of discharging and recharging the batteries
Hope this was of some help to you.

Sounds like the battery is completely drained. Remove and replace battery, and charge for a couple of hours with your AC charger. If it still does not fully charge, you may have a bad battery. Good Luck...

It won't turn on

Have you tried charging it for a couple of hours? If you did not use the tomtom for quite some time, the internal battery will discharge. Try charging it for a couple of hours by using a wall-charger or use the usb to pc cable.
Does the green light turn on (indicating its charging)?
If this all doesn't help, you should contact tomtom service center. A local number can be found here: http://support.tomtom.com/
Take care!

Green battery light on the archos 5 but when i disconnect it from dock or usb no green lights abd completely dead - won't switch on either in dock or out???

Power green LED light should come on, CHG green LED light should also come on showing the battery is being charged. Leave your unit in Suspend mode while charging it, DO NOT turn it completely off as "Shutting Down.." because it will not charge your battery.

I just purchased an almost new Archos 5 on eBay recently, and the first day I had it, happened to me that I left the unit off and charging on the Mini Dock with external AC power supply, after 13-14 hours the CHG light still wasn't blinking. Then I though maybe I have to leave the unit in Suspend mode rather than completely off, which I did, and in a matter of 3 hours it fully charged the battery.

Again, do not shut down completely the unit, leave it on Suspended mode, or even on, and connected it to your mini dock, after a while the screen will go blank the unit will go into Suspended mode by itself, and after 3 hours on external power supply or 8 hours via USB on PC should be completely charged and your CHG light should be blinking, indicating the battery is charged.

I hope this helped.

Hello,

I would check to make sure the AC adaptor connection on the motherboard was not damaged when you opened the pc. ( I have done that a few times.) I'm uncertain of what you have done to solve the problem. Since you have the new battery, again try to charge the battery. when it show the charge is complete, let the pc run until it goes off, when it does, keep powering your pc on until it will no longer power on. (You want to make sure the battery is completely drainned.) Once complete, try plugging the AC to your pc and monitor the charge. You may need to let the pc charge for at least 2 hours before powering the pc on.

Good Luck

IF I WILL CHARGE MY PHONE IN A FEW MINUTES IT SHOWS FULLY CHARGE

I'm not certain what your question is you made a statement more or less.

I do know that alot of cell phones will show that they are fully charged after minutes of charging, but then very quickly go back down to almost dead within an hour. This is because the phone is not actually fully charged. Most batterys need at least an hour minimum to be fully charged after its drained completely.

Post back if you need any further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!
