Have had my KLH R5100 for about three years. The first two years trouble free. About a year ago, when I turned it on, it had no audio output. After checking every possible switch, cable and option available, I gave up and unplugged it. Took it to a stereo shop about 4 mos later and left it for testing. He called an stated nothing was wrong and he was able to run it steady for 4 days. Brought it back, hooked everything up, and lo and behold, worked fine. The next morning, turned it on and again, no sound from any input. Even when I select the Test mode using the remote control, you see the receiver changing speakers from the front panel but no sound. (Yes, the volume control is up). I am very close to doing the 20ft drop test to see how many pieces I can gather. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, I don't have the manual with me. I found KLH R 5100 with user manual in the following link. Tray to contact them. OK http://www.ebay.com/itm/KLH-R-5100-Receiver-Hi-Power-/250902259353
The KLH R5100 only supports standard definition.
You would connect either composite (yellow) or S-video to the "Sat" connection on the rear of the receiver. For audio you would connect a stereo (red/white) analog connection to the same "Sat" connection.
use component audio to the HDTV and optical audio to your KLH reciever. The component and optical are always active at the same time. I work for TWC if you have more questions.
