Question about KLH R5100 Receiver

1 Answer

No Analog output

Have had my KLH R5100 for about three years. The first two years trouble free. About a year ago, when I turned it on, it had no audio output. After checking every possible switch, cable and option available, I gave up and unplugged it. Took it to a stereo shop about 4 mos later and left it for testing. He called an stated nothing was wrong and he was able to run it steady for 4 days. Brought it back, hooked everything up, and lo and behold, worked fine. The next morning, turned it on and again, no sound from any input. Even when I select the Test mode using the remote control, you see the receiver changing speakers from the front panel but no sound. (Yes, the volume control is up). I am very close to doing the 20ft drop test to see how many pieces I can gather. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

How do I hook it up to a cable box?

The KLH R5100 only supports standard definition.
You would connect either composite (yellow) or S-video to the "Sat" connection on the rear of the receiver. For audio you would connect a stereo (red/white) analog connection to the same "Sat" connection.

Connect R5100 to DVR/Monitor

use component audio to the HDTV and optical audio to your KLH reciever. The component and optical are always active at the same time. I work for TWC if you have more questions.
