You will need to find the model number of your board to determine the processor socket type. When you know the socket type then the mobo you need will more than likely be a mini atx board, but when you find the model and search google it will tell you the 'Form Factor Type'.

Hi,

Firstly before replacing the motherboard please check whether the battery is working perfectly. I dont beilve its the problem of the motherboard and even if its the case other than battery it would be CMOS battery trouble . So check that stuff before directly going for the motherboard replacement

BEEP

Did you try resetting your BIOS. If you havent then reset your BIOS and try to start the computer again. If it doesnt start then there is problem with memory.
Try another slot(PC has two slots for RAM right) if it still doesnt work then you may have to try replacing your RAM.

Cpu upgrade for zv6000

Most of the newer processors use a different socket.

The Socket 939 chips go up to an Athlon 64 X2 4400+.

However: keep in mind that your computer's bios may not be setup to use newer CPU's. The only way to tell is to check compaq's web site for updates or just to buy a CPU and try it.

Good luck!
