Try this first....unplug the printer from the wall socket, wait 30 seconds, and then plug back in. If printer does not come on, re initialize power at power button on console.
The manor I explained to you is how to clear error message out of the memory.
If this does not clear error message, ,If you can remove ink cartridge from printer then repeat the previous sequence. Prior to you re=pluging in power, make sure ink access door is closed. Turn on printer and follow menu instructions. If you still have error code, it can be a faulty chip on ink cartridge, or a bad carriage....
NVRAM Initialization: 1. Turn the printer off. 2. Press and hold down CANCEL (X) and Start Copy (button just below the X button) buttons at the same time while powering on printer. *Keep these buttons press while you power on the printer* 3. Continue to hold down buttons until the printer display reads PERMANENT STORAGE INIT. 4. Release the buttons when "PERMANENT STORAGE INIT" is displayed. Printer will return to Ready automatically.
Stuck process. Use Ctrl-Alt-Del to see what is not responding, kill the process.
Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.
Do you hear the motor come on when you press the button?if you do, the window has probably come off the track. If you don't hear the window motor come on...do any of the other windows go up or down?If they don't, check the fuse first.
Is it still under warranty? If yes call HP. If no...you could have a bad formatter or DC Controller. What step does it get stuck at in the init process?
Try a NVRAM initialization. Turn the printer off and before turning it back on hold down the right arrow and cancel buttons together while the device is powered back on.
"Unable to Init" indicates a mechanical error, unless you're able to find a stuck paper or parts of a stuck paper or similar, you'll have to send the unit to service to have it fixed.
