D1-3000d protection light stays on

Generally thats a sign of a shorted output device, either a bipolar transistor or mosfet. Also ground faults can trigger a protect light.

if the protection light is on its an hardware failure
the protection unit will not let you power on the Amp

REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS, THEN POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP WITH THS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL GOES INTO PROTECTION AND YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE POSITIVE AND ESPECIALLY THE GROUND CONNECTIONS, ALONG WITH THE REMOTE CONNECTIONS ARE 100%, THEN THE AMPLIFIER WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. Hi the protection light comes on when there is a problem within the amps. circuitry. Generally speaking the protection light normally comes on when powered up while the amp checks all of its voltage rails so that they all lie within a specific tolerance, when all have been verified to be in spec. then the protect light goes out & the power light comes on. If the protect light stays on then a fault exists within it's circuitry. Cheers, acbva.

disconnect all the speakers from it.. turn it off and then on again, if the protection light is still on your amp has gone out and id take it to a pro to get it fixed. you might be better off getting a new one though.

Outputs are fried. Try disconnecting your speakers and see if it still goes into protection mode. If it does then you A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if answer is helpful for your question. THANK you and GOD BLESS

Does it go into protect in the vehicle if you disconnect the speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp?

If the protection LED lights only after the remote voltage is applied (head unit is switched on), the amplifier likely has shorted output transistors. If the protection LED remains lit without remote voltage applied, the amp may have other problems.

Does the protection LED light with no speaker wires connected to the amp and no RCAs plugged into the amp?

Disconnect all speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp and disconnect signal cables from the amp. If it powers up, the wiring needs to be checked. If the protect light remains on, the amp likely has blown output transistors.
