Question about GPX Televison & Video
WHEN I SURF THE CHANNELS THE WORD "MONO" APPEARS ALONG WITH THE CHANNEL.
It does not mean much---sound may still be stereo but channel change often does not allow it to show.
With it on a channel listen carefully and switch it if possible from mono to stereo to see if hear mono or not.

On the original TV remote press the "AUDIO" button until it gets to the option "MAIN" and this should get the stereo sound back.

SOURCE: Mono - no sound
Your remote may have a "mute" button on it. If it does then the button may have been accidentally pushed.
Also in the menu there may be a setting to turn off your speakers.
Some sets also have an external speaker switch which will turn off the speakers to let you connect an external amplifier to the set.
