I contacted the mfg Thomson and they solved this for me, hold the skip
button for 2-3 seconds and it will change back to English. You can also
get a copy of the manual online at www.thompsonnetwork.com. you only need to enter the numeric numbers for the model ie:
25861 and it will bring up the manual.

Re: Answering Machine language change
The answering machine is in a different language, simply press and hold
the "Skip" key for about 3-5 seconds, and it will automatically tell
you which language has been selected. It works like a toggle switch so
you can go back and forth.
I have had this problems for a while on my Motorola answering machine and never got to chance to find out how to fix it. It worked!!! I pressed down the "double arrows" bottom for a few seconds, now I have English on the answering machine again. Thanks.

I had a similiar problem in that my cat decided to change the language to spanish. I finally read on the side of the machine that you press "skip" button until it changes the language. I am now back to English.
Just as the other answers that were left...you just have to press the skip button. Just make sure that you press announce on the cradle...not on the phone...then when you hear the voice in Spanish just press and HOLD the skip button until it changes to English. Good Luck
