If everything else appears to run normally, hook a spare monitor to the video output on the back, if picture okay! the LCD screen in the laptop is the problem, caused by a defective inverter board,"located under screen" or the backlight behind the display has failed.
If everything else is working, hook a spare monitor to the video output, if picture okay! the problem is the inverter board, or the backlight behind the LCD display. But if both show the same symptoms it is a video graphics card issue normally built into the motherboard.
Mine started doing the same thing to me randomly this afternoon. It worked fine this morning but now the backlight wont light up no matter what. I checked the settings and everything.... it's the same as yours... I can barely see the screen its like it is idle and hasn't been touched. I've turned if off and on numerous times and nothing helps
You need to repalce the backlight/Screen altogether, or have someone do it for you. If the backlight has cracked then no amount of reconnecting will get it to work.
