Question about Samsung TX-R2779H 27" TV

PS3/HDMI issues I recently purchased a 60gig PS3, and it works fine on this television with the regular connectors that it comes with (the red, yellow and white ones), but I bought a HDMI cable to get the most out of the blu-ray and HD, but no inputs recognize it. I go to the HDMI source, and it just says searching for signals. Is there something else that I'm missing? I figured it was as easy as putting the cord in the HDMI port in the PS3 and the HDMI port in the TV. Any help would be apperciated.

Hold your finger over the button on the far right of the PS3 until it beeps twice and the PS3 will cycle through it output settings and you should them be able to set up the PS3 through to the HDMI settings. Good luck. The answer above regarding the wrong cable is completely bogus.....your cable is fine.

The cable you purchase does not support the connection on your set.

I borrowed my brother-in-law's ps3 while he was away for a few weeks. it worked fine on my tv but when he got back, it didn't work on his. i have an HDTV but he has a regular one. i've looked for answers...

Alright so this is what you have to do.
1. Connect it to your HDTV with the HDMI cable and the red/white/yellow cable.
2. Turn it on and go to the display settings and switch it to the composite cable setting.
3. Change your TV channel where you would see the red/white/yellow cable and accept it that way.
4. You should be all set. Take it to the regular TV and connect it with the red/white/yellow cable.

My volumn doesn't work when using the HDMI cable

Your TV and the cable box may not be compatible via HDMI or the digital audio format of the cable box is not set to PCM (contact your cable provider for information on how to change this on your cable box... too many models to speculate). The easiest solution is to use the component connections on the box and the TV (5 wire - Green, Blue, Red, White, Red). This will give you HD and eliminate to question of compatibility. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

I am having connection issues with an LG 55lh40 television, a HD DVR from Directv, a PS3 and a DVD/VCR combo. The TV seems to be working good, but does not seem to be picking up an HDMI cable of any kind....

No picture
when connecting HDMI:
Check HDMI cable over version 1.3.
The HDMI cables don’t support HDMI version 1.3, it cause flickers or no screen
display. In this case use the latest cables that support HDMI version 1.3.

How to hook psp3 to regular tv

The ps3 has 2 ways to connect to your tv. It has HDMI output and a regular video output. The regular video output is a yellow RCA connector with a red and white audio connector. You should have gotten this cable with the ps3. If your tv does not have a video or AUX input a regular vcr will. Connect the yellow, red and white from your ps3 to the same on your tv or vcr and select that input on your tv or vcr.

Ps3?

Check the couplings at either end of the cable. Sometimes these will loosen and can cause a lack of signal strength.

but its probably not the cable, its probably the ps3. HDMI cables don't really break because they are just wires, they don't have moving parts. Try connecting your PS3 to your TV with the regular cable red, white, and yellow connectors that you got when you bough the PS3. If the PS3 doesn't work with the original red, white, and yellow connectors then you know its the PS3. If the PS3 does work fine, you know its either the HDMI cable (still unlikely) or the HDMI connection on your TV or PS3 (more likely

PlayStation 3 XMB Problem

It could be either a problem determining the aspect ratio change between HDMI and your DVI cable or a problem or the settings on your television (You may have the resolution setting too low for HD, does your TV support 720i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p?). If you post back with your model of TV I can help you figure out what's going on.
It's unlikely to be a hardware issue on either connector.

Samsung lcd ln46a550pf3 no sound from hdtv reciever

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.

Blue screen with HDMI

Check the power supply modular cable connection that is by itself in the upper right corner.  On the one my son-in-law has the double yellow jumper wire that connects to this plug in two locations was loose (not properly inserted) in the modular connector and had worked it way out.
