In most cases you need to install the software before even plugging the webcam device, did you follow that sequence?
Check the Windows Device Manager to see if a device is present in the Other devices or Unknown devices category. If so, update the drivers for it and don't let Windows search, but instead point to the CD with the drivers.
Installing webcam drivers can be a bit tricky...

Cannot install
Remove off any program of web - cams that was installed into the PC with the web -c am disconneccted from the PC. Now download the correct driver software of the web-cam into the PC, then connect the web-cam to the PC to be detected and installed.
If this wont work please check with another PC to confirm the web-cam.

Web Cam picture continually goes from dark to light and then light to dark.
Please remove the web cam and uninstall the driver of the web-cam. now reinstall the driver after the PC was restarted and then connect the web-cam to be detected and installed.
if this wont work then the web cam is faulty- a hardware issue.

My Windows NX-3000 Web cam wont let my PC load
Normal 0 Did you connect the camera before installing the software program? If you did, disconnect the camera from the USB Port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to reconnect the printer, then plug the cable back into the USB port and it should function properly.
