SOURCE: KDC 128 CD Player

It could be that the player is going into protect mode. This is normally due to a short in a speaker cable, or one or more of your speakers is blown. Try disconnecting all of your speaker cables at the speaker end and make sure the connectors don't touch. Power it up again and see if it stays on. Bear in mind you won't hear anything. If it powers up. Carefully plug each speaker back in. It will power off if you plug in the dud! If it still doesn't power up. disconnect all of your speaker cables at the player end. If it powers up this time one of your cables is shorted. Same as the speakers, plug one pair of wires in at a time to find the dud. If it's still switching off. It could be a blown circuit on the output stage of the amp. Here's a silly question. Does the player get hot? All this assumes that you have had this player working with these cables and speakers before. If not check that the speakers are the correct rating (Resistance in Ohms) for the player. And lastly here's where you can get a manual http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Support/Car_Files/#_

SOURCE: Wiring for a kenwood kdc 1020 cd player

if you have the wire connector it's easy.....give the negative conection to the body of the player..find the wire from the battery with has the power supply even when the switch is off..and connect it to the yellow wire.that is for the memory...find the wire which has the power when the switch is on ,and connect it to the red wire from the player....what i mean by switch is the ignition switch... u can easily find the speaker connections...most speaker wires comes as blue,ash,green,white...there are two wires from each colour......

SOURCE: need color codes for a kenwood kdc- 122p head unit in dash.

Hi there,
Generally you can find these manuals freely available at the manufacturers website, however it usually take ages worth of searching and i thought id save you the hassle,
Head to this link for your units entire manual.. Page 17 i think it is exactly.
http://www.cartoys.com/cartoy/pdfs/kdc-122s_manual.pdf

There a good little unit but sold a few when i was working in the industry.

Otherwise generally you can pick up pre wired pugs that adapt the cars harness via one plug to the back of the stereo avoiding any splicing. If youre interested in them head to this website,

Hope this helps,
Have a happy easter
Cheers
Steve

How to install a Kenwood kdc 138 in a 1992 Ford Escort LX?

if its anything like my 92 ranger you take the dash apart around the radio and the stereo should unscrew, in my ranger the new cd player went in without any extra harness as it was the same size as the stock, if not you can but harnesses to go where your old stereo did, to connect the speakers you can buy a ford wiring harness from walmart or any store with an audio department. these plug in to your vehicles wiring harness so you don't have to cut it out, after that you simply match colours from the wires of the new cd player to the wiring harness

I cant figure out which is the memory wire for the kenwood kdc-mp4028 or where to connect it, please help?

The memory wire is yellow. To hook it up you need to take it to a power supply that is always hot like straight to the battery. You can get the manual on the link below page 28 will tell you how to wire it.

No, you have the battery wire hooked up to the ignition switch.
Here is the owners manual with wiring diagram.

Yellow wire must go directly to fused HOT (battery). Not through ignition switch, red goes to switch.
