Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

1 Answer

Bleeding color When I print anything such as a card, etc... the printer leaves a dragged or bleeding mark in the middle of the printed line. For example, if I print a square box, the bottom line will have a smudged part in the middle of the box. Please tell me what is wrong and what I can do. Thanks

I have a similar problem. I just spoke with Dell support and they said that the problem is the printer drum. Fortunately, my printer is under warranty so they are sending me another.

Have put new cartridges in and only prints yellow lines

Remove all cartridges, make sure any tape has been removed from over the nozzle. Ensure that everything has been installed properly, then use your printer (prompts on device, or in printer>control panel) to print some test pages, realign heads, etc.

When printing from the HP color laserjet 4600DN, its leaving tracking lines in the middle of the page. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello, track lines could be caused by a number of components within the printer.

Is it any specific color? Yes - Change the toner of the color causing the lines.
open the front main door, Inspect the ETB for damage. Inspect the fuser for damage. If any component shows damage it will need to be replaced.

Black marks on the printing

You could have a build up of ink on your rollers, and as the paper is pushed through it is leaving marks. It could also be causing your ghosting effect or double lines. By having your printer cleaned by a certified technician it should reslove your issue.

HP 4700n leaves marks on prints

Either the fuser or the copy drum assembly is worn, first replace the drum, if it doesn't clear the problem, it's the fuser.

#5 black ink cartridge skips through the middle occasionally

Replacing the print head
The print head may need replacing if, after all print head and ink tank troubleshooting has been performed:

  • The nozzle test appears broken or to have horizontal white streaks.
  • One or more of the colors is missing from the Nozzle Test.
  • The colors are incorrect on the Nozzle Test.
  • A print head error is indicated on the unit.
  • The printer powers off when the print head is installed.
I hope it helps!!!

Bad printing

just for info my printer wasn't printing much of anything black and color. If you hold down the middle button till the light on the top blinks twice it will give you a color test page. it should give you a grid to the right and to the left it should have the letter H and two blocks. If it doesn't you hit the middle button until the light blinks once and that is the cleaning. I have had to do almost 25 cleanings just today to finally get some results. Hope this helps you.
