I'm very sure that i installed it correctly, but when I push the maxi cosi in backwards direction, it tilts (in the direction of the rear of the car seat). This shouldn't be possible, right?
Hi
This is not a realistic movement for the carseat - it wouldn't be tilted like this in an accident so it is not something that can correctly confirm a good fitting.
Was the carseat fitted by a trained member of staff prior to purchase and confirmed suitable? Did they demonstrate how to correctly fit it using the seatbelt only?

Hi, Yes the **** strap will fit through the hole, although this is a tight squeeze, but often something that people mention as a little tricky. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I would suggest that you have this fitted by a trained car seat specialist, but you can check the compatibilty on the Fit Finder on this link.

Good Evening
Instructions for replacing your fabrics are in your Maxi Cosi CabrioFix user manual. If you no longer have your user manual you can download another copy at www.maxi-cosi.com and selecting the CabrioFix carseat. Above the product image you will see a tab to download a user manual.
If you have removed the harness from the carseat completely this carseat needs to be sent to our engineers for them to re-thread the harness. Due to the safety implications of this being done incorrectly we cannot recommend that this is done by anyone else. The standard charge is £50 and this would include courier delivery service of the carseat back to your address. In addition you will need to make arrangements and cover costs for a courier delivery service of the carseat into our engineers.
Just did it. It took two of us, but only a couple of minutes and no
tools (except a table knife) once we'd worked out what the problem was. The
reason the strap doesn't thread easily through the slot is that there is a sprung
two-part mechanism that needs to be held open. One person threads the strap through
while the other keeps the mechanism open.
Person 1:
1) Find the slot under the
chair that the strap goes into - turn the seat upside down; it's a thin gap you
can feel with your fingertip when you run your finger along the narrow back of
the metal strip under the front of the seat (not the base).
2) Remove the metal rod
that attaches the grey reclining lever. The rod is about 20 cm long and can be pushed
out without tools. Removing this rod seems to make it easier to open the buckle
mechanism. When replacing the rod later, you just have to line it up carefully with
holes (we used a torch to help us see them)
3)
Make sure the strap passes under the metal rod at the bottom of the seat
back (you can see how here in a small photo here: http://www.englishforum.ch/attachments/sale-wanted/37565d1327058634-sale-maxi-cosi-tobi-car-seat-9mths-3-yrs-zh-maxi_cosi_tobu_small.jpg)
Person 2
4) Push back buckle as
far as it will go (it goes back past vertical easily, then needs another firmer
push,
5)
Hold the buckle in this backwards position.
6)
Insert a table knife (rounded and blunt, not sharp) into the space under
the buckle and push back the sprung, hinged plastic part that the knife touches
at the back.
7)
Person 1 then threads the strap back through the slot, pushing until then
end comes out.
8)
Tie a knot in the end of the strap so you don't accidentally pull it
through again!
9)
Replace the metal rod in the reclining mechanism.
10) Done!
