The remote will only work if I am directly in front of the media center. Nothing is blocking the line of sight, the remote doesn't use an led. What is wrong with the remote and can it be fixed?

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Why cant i get my universal remote to work with my maxent tv?

remotes work in two ways
1---is by infra red beam and
2-- is by high frequency radio waves
check what remote operation you have first and if it is compatible with the tv receiver
then check to see if the remote is actually working

How do I get my little remote to work

I don't understand the "wiring" of this to the tv. A remote will work on radio frequency (RF) or with infra red (IR). If you TV is connected to a cable box then you need to use the remote that came with the box but will still need to be programmed for your TV. Call your cable company. If you do not have cable then you need to do the initial set up that starts with the menu button on you remote. Make sure there is nothing in front of the IR sensor on the TV.

Key fob not locking doors,battery ok,internal door lock ok.clk 320 2003 model

It could be the frequency amplifier problem. The AM radio may not work too. Check the fuse first to see if it is just fuse problem. Otherwise the frequency amplifier can cost you $1000.

My RMF-GD001 operates everything except the tv. I own a Sony Bravia XBR46-45 tv connected to a sony surround sound system

I had the same problem.

My Bravia LCD TV wasn't responding to its remote RMF-GD001 although the remote works on the home entertainment unit. Lucky for me, I have an extended warranty and so I called for a service. Technician tested my remote and said that it's RF transmitter is spoilt. Little did I know that the remote has IR and RF transmitter and it will work on any devices that uses infra red transmission. But Bravia LCD TVs use the radio frequency transmission and that is where the problem is.

I had my $125 remote replaced FOC. :)

This reminds me to get a silicon case for the remote and to put it out of reach from my kids who like to drop things.
