LGDVT418 I cannot change the Bypass audio mode while watching a dvd. I don't hear people's voices but I hear cars, things, sounds, etc. It drives me crazy. I don't want to spend $500 for a new audio system. Please help!

    hi !!

    i have had my lgdvt418 for about four years. when i moved in july i started experiencing the same problems with my system. i can play cd's , t.v. audio , and the radio with no problems!! but when i play dvd's i can only hear the back ground sounds and narrative??



    i have been through the entire manual but have had no success. i am totally frustrated because i like the system. if i can't find any answers i will take it in locally and hope that it can be repaired. my e- mail address is [email protected] if you have any suggestions. i'm glad that i'm not the only one with this issue

I have the problem resolved got this answer from lg :
We are delighted to hear from you as our Valued Customer. We regret the trouble you have experienced with this product. Check the CENTER SPEAKER for operation. This single speaker carries the vocals for DVD discs, but is not uesd for TV and CD AUDIO. Check the wiring on this speaker to make sure that the contact points on the DVD player are touching the wire, and not the rubber insulation on the wire. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division at 800-243-0000 at your convenience. Movie DVD's are not "DVD-Audio". They are DVD's with audio of various formats. So don't sweat it if "DVD-Audio" is grayed out when you don't have a DVD-A disc inserted

Audio function "Bypass" - problem
try to increse the volume centre channel level so that u could hear better vocals. or do one thing if u r connected with optical cable only. just connect single RCA cable from dvd players centre channel output to the TV input (Left/mono) so that u can only hear the center channel volume thru TV and all other from speakers even the LG is working..

Hi Rachael, I dont know anything about your DVD player itself but from what you have said assuming you have a stereo TV and you can only hear music etc from both channels in a movie then you MIGHT have it set for 5.1??, which means instead of everything coming out of the L+R the VOICES and music etc are being sent to the CENTRE CHANNEL and the other channels.

As I dont know that model, all I can say is try menu or options etc and go to audio and change the output for stereo. (You said you tried AUDIO but I am assuming you mean the audio button on the remote which changes between the audio versions on the DVD Disc.)

or maybe try checking the cables, what ones are you using? Scart? Composite? maybe the audio cables have been plugged into the wrong sockets on the DVD player if it has multiple outputs on it?

I dont know what else to say... But the above 2 options are worth trying. I hope you get it sorted OK :) Bye.

Can't hear voice/some audio
your audio setting is set to 5.1 and your do not have enough speakers to hear all the sounds. I suggest to change the setting to 2 speakers and you will be able to hear everything. good luck

Brake bypass jvc kd-av7010
ground the e-brake wire to something other than the e-brake start the dvd when you hear sound press "stop stop" then enter the code 26604 then press "enter" you will have to do this every time you want to watch a movie but it works.
