what you want is not possible. the Epson Stylus Photo 1290 does not use sublimation ink. it is strongly advised to only use genuine Epson ink to keep the print quality of your print head as high as possible.
Once more have the printer to perform the ink nozzles cleaning.
If you are using a ontinuos ink system, place it at the same level than that of the printer.
With the printer in the "replace carrtidge position", put it OFF and by hand, clean the place at which the cartridge rest.
Good luck and merry christmas
Try printing a test page by going to Start>Control Panel>Printers then select the printer, right click for Properties and click on Print test page. Inspect for all colors. If all colors are present then check the resolution settings. Which application are you printing from?
I decided to have another go at sorting out my 'lines' problem and have sorted it.
See if this might work for you:
I had previously done the head cleaning via the printer itself - holding the central ink/paper black button for 3 secs.
This time I went to the Epson 1290 window on my Mac and clicked on the utility box. Though the Nozzle check print came out fine I went ahead and did the head cleaning in this box.
The next print came out almost perfect so I ran the Head cleaning again and it printed a perfect print.
Hope this might work for you. Keep on trying! All the best. Trant
Do head cleaning. If your using Windows XP: click on start;control panel;printers and faxes; right click on the stylus photo 1290 icon and then left click on printing preferences.
Go to maintenance tab.Try to do 3 head cleanings. After head cleaning, try to print. If the picture is still bluish; go to printers and faxes; go to printing preferences; click on advanced button.
On the upper right part of the window you should see there color management, click on ICM and turn off, click on apply and ok.
try to print, if it is still the same, try to use another program to print your pictures.
