When I make a movie with Windows Movie Maker, the video comes out black. Sound is still there but there's no video! I have made many videos and this had never happened to me. I tried to convert all the videos that I used while editing from .avi to .wmv but I still have the same problem. I use online-convert.com to convert my videos.
SOURCE: Vista crashes while publishing movie in Windows Movie Maker/DVD Maker
i just found out the problem.
I have nero 7 installed on vista. To fix the vista movie maker crash when rendering, I just renamed this folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter
Renamed DSFilter to something else. VMM no longer crashes and when I want to use Nero again, just rename DSFilter back to normal.

My apologies but I'm not familiar with the Ulead product you use but I hope what I've written below may be of some use
Fundamentally you need to re encode the AVi to a smaller file size. It seems odd to me that you have AVi files that are too big for a 4.7Gb DVD disc unless you are using a flashy front end. A simple way to convert with minimum input from you would be to use Any Video Convertor Professional to resize the AVi file to a more usable size. By decreasing either or both the Video and audio of the AVI within Any Video Convertor Professional this should sort your problem out. Just ensure you keep the aspect ratio the same if this is what you require.
There is a free version of Any Video Convertor

In the program temp file path has enough space and Your drive should indicate (written on the front the drive door) a -R or +R make sure you are using -R or +R DVDs. also make sure you finished product does NOT EXCEED the capacity of the given media. They all hold diferent amounts. Multi layer discs, DUAL layer, High capicity.... Which should also be indicated on the drive door!!!! Hope this helps
SOURCE: Video freezes intermittently converting iTunes
Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. For clarification the movie freezes after the conversion and while your watching it or while converting?
- Converting movies from one format to another will eat up your memory and cpu usage. If the computer is using more than 80% process it will cause Lag or freezing on some applications. You can check the Task Manager about your processes and memory usage.
After the conversion try watching a video after you convert it to AVI see it there still an intermittent freezing.
If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.

Most of time your video which made form WMM is wmv format, and Youtube can not support this format, so you need to convert it to FLV or MP4 format. I think Leawo Free MP4 Converter can help you.
