Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16293 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Kenmore dishwasher My dishwasher stopped in the rinse cycle and no longer appears to be getting power, although the breaker works and the plug it is connected to is still receiving power. Is there a reset button for the motor, or some other idea to try and fix this? Thank you for your assistance. Mark

I'm having a similar problem. The dishwasher that I have is a Kenmore model 665 (15889000). It seem's that the washer is stuck on the Quick Rinse cycle and is displaying a #2 on the screen. If I turn the main breaker off for a long period of time, I can sometime bypass this screen. But as soon as I restart the machine goes back to the Rinse Cycle #2. When I press the Cancel button, most of the time it does nothing, but on occasion the machine will start for about 30 seconds and then quit again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mark, you probabley blew the thermal fuse located on the main board. Easy fix. Part number 8269213. You can ohm it out to be sure. You have to remove the inner panel to get at the control board. The fuse sits on the top side and clips on. Two wires to it. Use the kit with the heavier wires so it doesn't happen again. Check out the attachment.

Kenmore dishwasher won't run

Common solutions for: Kenmore Dishwasher will not start. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running and working while the door is open. If the door switch is defective, the switch will stop the dishwasher from running even when the door is closed. If the thermal fuse has blown , it will prevent the dishwasher from starting.
Make sure your dishwasher is fully and also securely plugged in and that the circuit breaker switches haven't been tripped. .It also houses the door latch switch that provides the power to the dishwasher controls. If the dishwasher door isn't closed properly, the dishwasher won't receive power to finish a wash cycle You could call a repair person that fixes dishwashers to have a look at it and see what the problem is with the dishwasher

I stopped my Kenmore dishwasher during a quick rinse cycle and now it won't work. I ran it thru a test cycle and everything is ok. Complete light keeps blinking. What can I do?

Try either unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. I had a similar problem that worked after I did this...good luck.

My Kenmore HE2t washer is stopping about 8 minutes into the cycle (any wash cycle)..completely turns off. I can run rinse and spin then and it completes the cycle. No error codes when it turns off. W

htc sensor isnt working i would recon
perhaps the element isnt getting power
did it trip your circuit breaker
some times the htc fails
all you get is machine stop because the heater is not detected

if it spins rinses and empties in a timely manner
then all thats left is the heater system

My Kenmore Ultra Wash model 665 Dishwasher stopped working. It won't turn on and some water in the bottom won't drain although there is no sign of a clog, and it's not unplugged.

It is supposed to be hardwired and not plugged in. In which case it could have thrown a breaker and you would not know it unless you used a test light, or reset all the breakers (often you can't visually tell when a breaker it tripped).
There may also a reset on the motor itself that you need to push.

Dishwasher

Check to see if you have any switches on your dishwasher that could by pass a rinse cycle. Use a hotter temparture when washing, Check your water level, check your filters on your inlet hose top and bottom. When it gets to a rinse cycle you should hear it drain out and bring in fresh water. you could change to a liquid detergent. Dont over load your dishwasher. make sure you are using rinse aid and try adjusting it up one setting. Shiney glasses means your rinse add is working. NZL
