Olympus Mju 400 error code d: 1E12

Lens wouldn't retract. Wehn I switched on the camera it made a whiring noise and displayed the error code and switched off. I connected the camera to my pc and the problem rectified itself.

I had the same problem and I fixed it with a spray of silicon oil on the lens barrels (between the two parts of the lens and between the camera and the lens, not over the lens glass!!!)

Another solution is to try to put the camera on with the lens directed on the air.

I faced the same problem.... googled the problem many a times....... only suggestion was to switch the camera on and off while shaking the camera..... i thought that was funny but .... nothing seemed to work for a long time...... i guess its a luck factor..... and one fine day.... out the blue everything came to normal while i was shaking the camera.... and it has been fine ever after........ but one would need lot of patience......
