I faced the same problem.... googled the problem many a times....... only suggestion was to switch the camera on and off while shaking the camera..... i thought that was funny but .... nothing seemed to work for a long time...... i guess its a luck factor..... and one fine day.... out the blue everything came to normal while i was shaking the camera.... and it has been fine ever after........ but one would need lot of patience......

the lens open halfway, the picture on the LCD is blurry and one second
after the lens close and an error appears of the screen saying "D: 5f08
5e02". what does this mean??? can you help me fixed this one??
It's not a solution I'm afraid, but I have the exact same problem as you had. What's worse, I followed the exact same methodology as you did and now my camera doesn't work either. Unlike you though, I own it, so have nobody to answer to.
Wondering how you got on with yours?
Did you find a fix, or take it to a repair shop in the end?
this problem is caused because that the lens servo can`t move the unit of lens. this menssage mean that the sistem don't go out the lens.
You have to sincronise the mechanism of the lens, carefully disarm the unit and review that the gears are ok.
